A Birthday Briar Rose Rainbow Quilt!

After seeing Amelie's Briar Rose Quilt, Nicole from Frontier Dreams asked if I could make one for her daughter - who also happened to be turning six in April! So now Amelie has a little birthday-quilt buddy!

For the quilt I used charm squares instead of cutting fat quarters and it came together really well!

Nicole chose to back and bind the quilt with the lovely Heather Ross bee print, and it looks amazing...even Amelie was a little jealous...and they both loved having a photo with the quilt before it travelled to the US!

Vital Statistics

My Amendments to the Pattern: Instead of the yardage suggested I used 13 packs of charm squares, using all 20 of the prints instead of 17.

To quilt it I used a walking foot on my standard machine and quilted every second zig zag 1/4 inch from the seam. This created a lovely chevron pattern on the back of the quilt.

To back and bind the quilt I used the Heather Ross Pink Hex Bee from the Briar Rose Collection

For the wadding I used a premium seed cotton wadding.

The quilt is now in it's new home HERE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY from AUSTRALIA!
