A Very Tim Burton Christmas

I am so excited to be joining in Sew Geeky's Tim Burton Series today!

We have been HUGE fans for a long time...see below geeking out when I met Tim Burton with a baby Clementine! I have only made one Tim Burton inspired costume before for Clementine's 1st Birthday when she was Alice. See it HERE!

Malcolm Reynolds Costume

My next instalment for Sew Geeky's Episode 7: Geek Spectacular

Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly and Serenity

This is one costume I have wanted to make forever...and I was about crafting a little baby Mal for Atticus but I thought it might be fun to make my dream come costume form...and then once Atticus can walk and tote a toy gun he can have one too!

The finished costume is a mix of handmade and found elements. I was lucky - I only had to go to two op-shops to get the main clothes - the first gave me the perfect shirt + pants and the second gave me gloves and my Browncoat!

In the lead-up to Halloween I thought I would share our collection of 1980's cartoon inspired costumes!

Here are a few I have made for the girls over the years...and I'm sure there will be more to come! I can't wait to dress up Atticus as He-Man one day!

My Little Ponies!

Another awesome piece of 1980's nostalgia that I can share with my girls!

They love watching and playing anything to do with the ponies so I thought they would love to have reversible pony capes to play with!

Clementine chose Pinkie Pie + Applejack

The Amelie Cape Pattern Release and Giveaway

I am so excited to announce the release of my very first PDF pattern - The Amelie Cape!

After years of making these wonderful capes I have created a pattern so you can join in the fun too!

The pattern features four different variations and comes in two sizes 1-3 years and 2-6 years. The capes can be worn beyond these ages as a caplet - so they get plenty of wear!

The PDF includes easy to follow instructions and both patterns. It is a great starter project for a new sewer and comes together quickly and easily.

To celebrate the launch some of my favourite bloggers will be sewing along in the next two weeks!

I will also be sharing some pattern hacks for the capes to transform them into different creatures and costumes!

I have 4 patterns to giveaway to some lucky readers!

To enter simply leave a comment with what pattern you would like to see next from Amelie and Atticus!

You can get additional entries by:

1. Liking / Following Amelie and Atticus on any social media (see the red buttons top right!)

2. Sharing the giveaway on any of the above platforms!

Please leave a comment for each entry!

I will draw a winner on Saturday 11th October 2014 - At the end of the blog tour!

I would like to thank the talented Andrew Battye for making my patterns digital and creating all the awesome artwork for the blog and the pattern!
