Quilting Briar Rose

I've enjoyed quilting Amelie's lovely Briar Rose so much I thought I would share some of my photos from the experience.

I used a walking foot on my little old Janome and it worked a treat! I never thought I'd be able to do a full quilt on my machine! I stitched every second row 1/4 inch up from the zig-zag and it created a lovely pattern on the back.

Now I can't wait to get binding tomorrow!

The Clara Dress

At the end of last year I had some birthday and Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket – but couldn't find anything I wanted in the shops.

I kept coming back to this dress and decided to splurge and buy the pattern and the stunning Nani Iro double gauze fabric that is featured on the original.

I love how it turned out – the fabric is so beautiful and luckily I have a bit left over that I will hopefully make into a dress for the girls soon!

Pram Makeover

We've had a sad little pram around here for a while.

It was always falling off and those poor dolls suffered many a broken limb.

So today the pram got a little makeover and the dolls can now be safely transported around the house!

Well safe-er!

The Atticus Finch Tee

We have started a fun new t-shirt project here at Amelie and Atticus... we are printing 100 limited edition tees of our favourite icons.

First up is Atticus Finch - a brilliant combination of an amazing literary figure and film icon.

We just love him so darn much we named our first born son after him!

Check them out on Etsy HERE!

Once they are sold we will create the next one!

Who would you love to see on a tee?

Happy Valentine's Day

Some simple little heart headbands for a bit of Valentine's day craft!

I was going to crochet some hearts for them but this was much more fun and simple!

I used a cookie cutter for the hearts and all up it probably took 10 minutes (as you can tell)...but the girls love them and had fun playing with them!

Special Delivery

Today I picked up a special package...

full of Atticus goodness!

There are 100 special tees that will be available soon!

We can't contain our excitement and all the kids have claimed a tee each!

Hand Embroidered Pencil Cases

Inspired by THIS lovely pencil case I made a couple for some sweet little girls.

The design uses a mixture of machine and hand embroidery and a lovely patterned fabric on the back!

I've wanted to use paper fabric for ages and I love the stitched version!

Interesting Tales....
