Reversible Frozen Elsa and Anna Costume

This weekend one of our lovely friends turned 4 and I made her a reversible Elsa and Anna costume for her Frozen party!

Anna Cape with Frozen Heart Button

I was searching everywhere for a button that fit and was so excited to find 2 'frozen' heart buttons in the stash - picked by the girls when I've taken them fabric shopping! They always love to pick up sparkly little buttons!

Elsa costume with sparkly silver cape!

The tulle overlay works really well as a petticoat when you flip it over to the Anna side too!

Clementine was more than happy to size test it for me and now she and Amelie want one each too!

I can't with to see little Starr all dressed up! Happy Birthday Starr!

Vital Statistics

Pattern: I used the free Party Dress pattern from The Cottage Mama and used the method for the A-Line Dress in her book Sew Classic Clothes to make it reversible!

For the Anna Cape I used The Amelie Cape Pattern!

Fabric: Is a mix of fabrics from Rainbow Fabrics (Elsa Bodice), My Hung Hurstville (Anna Dress, Elsa Skirt and Elsa Cape) and Spotlight (Anna Cape and Anna Iron on Embroidery)

  1. you have finally inspired me to get on to this project. My daughter has been wearing her cinderella dress ad nauseum to be Elsa and it is falling apart. We bought an Anna dress from Toys R Us but the bodice is so short it fits my son (19 months) versus her tall 3.5 body, so she refuses to wear it!

  7. Thank you so much for sharing this. I have Wub's 96% finished. (needs buttons) She was so excited when she realised that Anna was on one side and Elsa on the other. It was like Mommy had her own Frozen magic.
