Make It Count

Today we went to the Library for our once every three weeks visit...on the way home we had to just 'pop' to the post office to send a Ponyo on her way but when we got there we had no money ARHH...so we had to make a fun race home and race back with money! After that fun we decided we had earnt some treats from the bakery:

We set up the table outside for a lovely late morning tea...Amelie had already devoured most of her finger bun on the way home!

We discovered that an empty storage box from Ikea can provide hours of entertainment!

We made a flower vase out of a cardboard roll - folded at the end and taped up!

Amelie spent the afternoon watering the plants and playing with Clementine when she got up from her nap!

Don't they looked impressed to be in a photo with their mamma!

For exercise this week we ran around the backyard like nutters - the girls played really well together today and most exciting of all Clementine started walking today!

She has taken steps before but today she was walking all over the place - great work Clementine - I tried to capture it in a photo but she wasn't having any of that!

Apologies for last week that you couldn't see the links - I've fixed it up!

Sewing in Progress

Friday - Saturday - Sunday

On Friday I went on a mega fabric shop (insert evil laughter here) - it was fun and exhausting with the girls but we all survived...with the help of my mum and the ikea kids playground!

I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the new fabric I bought because I had to cut into it and start sewing! It was a great time to go to Ikea with their new fabric out...so much goodness! We also went to Reverse Garbage and came away with some goodies too!

Lastly we went to Spotlight where I spent quite a bit of money...why do they never have the sales when I need them!

After collapsing on Friday night I had a sewing marathon on Saturday and made 9 capes in one day...my new record! Sunday was spent on some Ponyo costumes for an order and the markets!

With only 2 weeks to go I am getting into top gear with my sewing and this week I hope to sew lots of dresses and bloomers!

Below are some of the capes I finished...I LOVE all of them...the fox, the green birds, the Denise Schmidt fabric....AWESOME!

Meanwhile there have been lots of new dresses entered into the Linen and Lace awards - so to send a bit of crafty love my way today click on the 5th heart HERE!

Only a week to go (woohoo!)

I don't think I will ever tire of seeing my little label sewn onto garments!

Amelie current loves dressing up in a billion outfits a day which I love...However I do not love having to help her change a billion times a day...but somehow it's all worth it with great photos like these:

LOVE

So that was my weekend...now I need another one STAT!

Make It Count

This week we made a castle from the craft box. With a princess, her mother and grandmother. They are made with ice cream sticks and dresses of scrap fabric...thankfully I have LOADS of that lying around!

During craft time we discovered a SURPRISE package on our front porch from a good friend - it was a pack of Strawberry Shortcake stickers! So we decorated the castle with some of them and now they live in our crafty box so you might see a bit of them in forthcoming craft projects!

Thanks Lara!

This is the face you get when you ask for a smile...beautiful!

The inner workings of the castle...with a mat for a bed!

The kids stayed in their pj's all day...with Amelie layering costumes over the top and Clementine needed a billion changes from drool...so it was kind of wasted!

Amelie sat in a tree for a bit...

...meanwhile Clementine found the castle and laid waste to it...luckily she was caught before destruction was total!

Amelie discovered the watering can and hours of entertainment watering the plants!

It's hard work being a princess!

Random cute baby top we got at Kmart for $3...now to have a little boy...although I think I will cave and you will see Clementine sporting it soon!

During the day I also went for a ride on the bike...wow 2 weeks in a row! It was probably best I stayed out of the kitchen because when it came to dinner I literally burnt the pasta...it's possible!

Thrift Shop Finds and Other Fabric Goodness!

I wasn't going to go op-shopping for a while but we went as a reward for braving the wild weather the other day to get to the post office!

We were rewarded with this beautiful tablecloth above - which I might make into a dress up wedding dress for Amelie!

Amelie found MANY things but mum would only let her get the glasses above!

A collection of red and purple goodies (the underwear was brand new!)

And a vintage bra (new!!!) and a baby swaddle for future babies (the girls lived in one like this)!

After thrifting this week we also had to hit the fabric shop:

Some tulle for a wedding dress and ballet skirt for Amelie

Fabric for capes!

And some fabric for a dress for Clementine (left) and something for me!

Don't forget to VOTE 5 HEARTS and enter this month's GIVEAWAY!

I really appreciate the support from my family, friends and the blogging community!

Stylish Dress Book - Dress E Review!

I broke out my Liberty 'Strawberry Thief' print for this project...here is a close up as you can't really tell in the long shots!

The finished dress - front

And back!

The dress came together really quickly and was pretty simple - I was a bit worried about the lack of instructions but the diagrams were very easy to follow!

The only issue is the tent like quality that everyone comes across...to give an idea...the first image is normal...above I am holding it in at the back and below I am holding it all the way out!

I kinda like the loose fit and think it will be great on a hot summer day...but I do also like the tighter look...hmm...maybe I will make another!

So all in all I LOVE it...such a luxury to use the liberty fabric! Now to get onto some more projects from the book!

Just a shot with Amelie because she wanted to model too! She is dressed up like Strawberry Shortcake (the modern one!)

Ponyo Costume Size 2

Another little Ponyo all finished and on her way to a new home!
