Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Party
Amelie and Willow's Strawberry Shortcake 3rd Birthday Party
I was gone! Did you miss me? I was away photographing a wedding and celebrating some birthdays...
Amelie opens up her present - a Strawberry Shortcake Costume and Sunglasses (just like in her favourite story Strawberry Shortcake at the Beach)...guess who thought they were going to the beach?!?
Willow's Strawberry Shortcake made by her talented mother Katrina!
The First Layer of the Strawberry Shortcake
All finished...to make this cake all you need is 2 packets of butter cake mix (or any flavour)...thickened cream for whipping and a punnet of strawberries halved...save one for the top! Simple, authentic and yummy!
The final look...topped with mini characters from the 80's and Katrina's beautiful writing!
Blueberry with her muffins!
Ginger Snap with her Gingerbread Biscuits...I think here might be the appropriate place to mention that while I can bake tasty things I can never seem to decorate them beautifully...it's just one of those skills that went missing...
Another example of this are the cake pops I made...here is the best one...the rest are there at the end of the table...they were meant to look like chocolate covered strawberries but went horribly wrong...and most people steered clear of them! But the one above was so yummy I am determined to conquer them...next time starting with cake balls...and perhaps NOT over heating the chocolate to dip them in!
I made these pom-poms from Martha Stewart...so cheap, easy and effective!
Jelly eating contest...no hands!
and pin the Strawberry on Strawberry Shortcake!
There were party games...
Sneaking...can you spot the Peculiar Purple Pie Man?
Jelly eating contest...no hands!
Musical chairs...with Strawberries...
Pinata Action
Come on bat...lets crack this thing!
and pin the Strawberry on Strawberry Shortcake!
It was all too much for little Apple Dumpling!
Getting ready to blow the candles out! Touch the cake and die!
Amelie was a little embarrased and decided to hide while everyone was singing Happy Birthday!
The girls had a great day and it was so much fun to plan and create this party...thanks to Trine and Steve for sharing Willow's special day with Amelie and all your hard work!
And thanks to everyone for came and shared the day with the girls!
Everything for the party was handmade and came together easily and with minimum cost!
Stay tuned for Clementine's Alice Tea Party in May for her first birthday!
Hi Thouraya, first of all - wonderful job with your daughter Amelie's birthday party - just gorgeous! Secondly, OMG! ReplyDeleteI love this! I still have all of my miniatures from when I was little and this party brought back sweet memories for me! Thank you! Great job on the party!
ReplyDeleteOh! Yummy! The food looks mind-bogglingly delicious! And hats off to the arrangement as well. Doing all the arrangements for a kid’s birthday party is quite difficult, you have to take care of your kid and his friends as well. I have booked one of the LA event venues for my son’s birthday party. I hope it is as amazing as this.
